AutoRequest Ltd ("AutoRequest", "we", "us") operates autorequest.co.uk, an online reverse car marketplace where buyers post vehicle requests and verified dealers make offers. We are registered in England and Wales. Our contact email is privacy@autorequest.co.uk.
For buyers: name, email address, mobile number (collected at registration), and the details of requests you post (budget, vehicle preferences, location). Payment card details for the £25 refundable hold are processed directly by Stripe and are not stored on our servers.
For dealers: company name, Companies House number, contact name, email, phone number, dealership address, trade insurance details, and FCA/DVSA registration if provided.
Usage data: We collect standard server logs and analytics including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and session duration. We use this to improve the platform.
We use your data to: operate and improve the platform; match buyer requests with relevant dealer offers; facilitate introductions between buyers and dealers; process payments via Stripe; send you notifications about offers, acceptances, and confirmations; comply with our legal obligations; and protect against fraud and abuse.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising on other platforms.
When a buyer accepts a dealer's offer, we share the buyer's name, email, and phone number with that dealer only. Buyer contact details are never shared before an offer is accepted. Dealer contact details are shared with buyers upon offer acceptance.
We share data with: Stripe (payment processing); our email service provider for transactional emails; our hosting provider (Netlify); and analytics tools. All processors are under data processing agreements and handle data only as instructed.
We retain account data for as long as your account is active plus 3 years for legal and tax compliance. Inactive accounts are deleted after 2 years of no activity. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by HMRC. You may request deletion at any time — see Section 7.
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and remember your login state. We use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable analytics cookies in your browser settings without affecting core platform functionality.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; restrict processing; and data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@autorequest.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for all data in transit. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified provider. We do not store payment card numbers. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised team members only.
We will notify registered users by email of any material changes to this privacy policy at least 14 days before they take effect. The current version is always available at autorequest.co.uk/privacy.

AutoRequest Ltd ("AutoRequest") operates a reverse car marketplace at autorequest.co.uk. We provide a technology platform that connects vehicle buyers with verified dealers. We are not a vehicle dealer ourselves and do not buy, sell, or own any vehicles listed on the platform. All transactions are directly between buyers and dealers.
Posting requests: Buyers may post vehicle requests for free. By posting, you confirm you are a genuine prospective buyer with the stated budget available. Posting false or misleading requests may result in account suspension.
The £25 refundable hold: When a buyer accepts a dealer's offer, a £25 authorisation is placed on their payment card. This is a hold, not a charge. It is returned in full within 24 hours of the buyer confirming a purchase. If a buyer accepts an offer and fails to follow through without contacting AutoRequest, £12.50 of the hold may be forfeited as goodwill compensation to the dealer.
Confirmation: Buyers must confirm their purchase within 30 days of accepting an offer. After 30 days with no activity, the authorisation expires automatically.
Registration: Dealers must be registered UK businesses with a valid Companies House number. Dealers must maintain accurate trade insurance throughout their membership. AutoRequest reserves the right to suspend any dealer whose trade credentials lapse or cannot be verified.
Offers: Dealers must only make offers on vehicles they own or have firm access to and can sell at the stated price. Offers must be accurate in all material respects including mileage, condition, and specification.
Commission: When a sale is confirmed by both buyer and dealer, AutoRequest invoices the dealer 1% of the confirmed sale price. This invoice is due within 14 days. Persistent non-payment will result in account suspension and may be referred to debt recovery.
Confirmation obligation: Dealers must confirm completed sales in the AutoRequest dashboard within 48 hours of buyer confirmation. Failure to confirm within 48 hours results in automatic invoicing based on the buyer-stated price. If the price is disputed, dealers must contact AutoRequest within 48 hours of buyer confirmation.
Non-circumvention: Dealers agree not to attempt to complete sales with buyers introduced through AutoRequest outside the platform in order to avoid commission. This includes directing buyers to third-party sites, agreeing deals before the introduction, or re-contacting buyers from expired requests. Breach of this clause results in immediate account termination and may result in legal action to recover unpaid commission.
The following are strictly prohibited: creating false or misleading listings or requests; impersonating another person or business; using the platform for any purpose other than genuine vehicle transactions; scraping or data-mining the platform; attempting to reverse-engineer the platform or access systems without authorisation.
AutoRequest is a technology intermediary. We do not guarantee the accuracy of dealer listings, the quality of vehicles offered, or the outcome of any transaction. We are not party to any sale between a buyer and a dealer. Disputes about vehicle condition, price, or delivery are between buyer and dealer directly, though we will assist in mediation where possible.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AutoRequest's total liability to any user for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to the greater of £100 or the amount of commission paid in the preceding 3 months.
AutoRequest may terminate or suspend any account that breaches these terms, without prior notice. Users may close their account at any time by emailing hello@autorequest.co.uk. Outstanding commission obligations survive account termination.
These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
