Yes, completely free. No card required, no subscription, no hidden charges. You post your request, dealers respond with offers, and you choose. AutoRequest earns nothing from buyers at any point. We charge dealers a 1% commission only after a sale completes — so our incentive is to get you a good deal.
Do I need to pay anything to accept a dealer's offer? ↓
No. Accepting a dealer's offer is completely free. You only ever pay the dealer directly when you buy the car. AutoRequest charges the dealer 1% commission — you pay nothing to us at any point.
How long does it take to receive offers? ↓
It depends on your budget and specification, but most buyers receive their first offer within a few hours of posting. Popular requests — flexible spec, budget over £8,000, common makes — attract the fastest responses. More specific requests may take a day or two as dealers need to source the right vehicle.
Are the dealers verified? ↓
Yes. Every dealer on AutoRequest is manually verified before they can make offers. We check their Companies House registration number, confirm they hold valid trade insurance, and review their application. Private sellers are not permitted on the platform — every offer you receive comes from a legitimate, registered UK motor trade business.
What if the car doesn't match what was offered? ↓
You are never obligated to buy. If the car doesn't match the dealer's description when you view it, simply walk away. We encourage all buyers to view any vehicle in person before committing. If you have concerns about a specific dealer's conduct, contact us at hello@autorequest.co.uk and we will investigate.
What is the Amazon voucher and how do I get it? ↓
As a thank-you for confirming your purchase, we send you an Amazon gift voucher by email. Upload your V5C document or dealer invoice when confirming your purchase in your dashboard — £10 for cars up to £15,000, £15 for cars above £15,000. We will email the voucher to your registered email address within 48 hours of confirmation.
How do I confirm my purchase? ↓
Once you have bought the car and collected it, open your buyer dashboard, go to "Confirm a sale", upload your proof of sale (V5C document or dealer invoice), and click confirm. This triggers your Amazon voucher and lets us invoice the dealer the 1% commission. You have 30 days from accepting an offer to confirm.

How does the 1% commission work? ↓
When a buyer and dealer both confirm a completed sale in the app, AutoRequest invoices the dealer 1% of the confirmed sale price. On a £12,000 sale that is £120. That is the only payment you ever make to us — no subscription, no listing fee, no cost to browse or make offers. Commission is owed on any sale that follows an introduction through AutoRequest, whether or not the in-app confirmation flow is used.
What if the buyer doesn't confirm? ↓
If a buyer confirms a purchase and the dealer does not confirm within 48 hours, our team contacts the dealer directly to resolve it. We do not auto-invoice. Every confirmation query is handled personally. If there is a genuine dispute, email us at hello@autorequest.co.uk and we will pause the process while we investigate.
How is AutoRequest different from Autotrader? ↓
Autotrader charges dealers a fixed monthly subscription — typically £600 to £2,000 per month — regardless of whether they sell anything. AutoRequest charges nothing until a sale completes, then 1%. On Autotrader you pay to be visible to passive browsers. On AutoRequest, a buyer has already told you exactly what they want and their budget — you respond only when you have the right car. The buyer is already motivated. That is a fundamentally different proposition.
What is the founding dealer programme? ↓
The first 100 dealers to register have their 1% rate locked for their first three years, a founding member badge on their profile, and priority access to buyer requests before we open to all dealers. Once 100 founding spots are taken, the standard rate applies to new registrations. Your founding rate is locked from your first confirmed sale.
How do I get verified as a dealer? ↓
Register using the dealer application form. We require your Companies House number, trade insurance details, and contact information. Our team manually reviews each application within 24–48 hours. You will receive an email once approved. Once approved you can browse live buyer requests and make offers immediately.
Can private sellers use AutoRequest? ↓
No. AutoRequest is exclusively for verified, registered UK motor trade businesses. We do not accept private sellers. Every dealer on the platform has been verified through Companies House and holds valid trade credentials. This protects buyers — when you receive an offer through AutoRequest, you know it comes from a legitimate, accountable business. Think of us as the Zoopla of car sales: agencies only, no private listings.

1. Who we are

AutoRequest Ltd ("AutoRequest", "we", "us") operates autorequest.co.uk. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this platform. Contact us at hello@autorequest.co.uk with any privacy queries.

2. What data we collect

Buyers: name, email address, phone number, location (postcode or city), vehicle requirements as described in your requests, and proof of sale documents uploaded when confirming a purchase.

Dealers: company name, Companies House registration number, trade insurance details, contact name, email address, phone number, and location.

All users: login credentials (stored securely via Supabase Auth), session data, and usage information collected automatically when you use the platform.

3. How we use your data

We use your personal data to: operate and improve the platform; connect buyers with relevant dealers; verify dealer credentials; send transactional emails (offer notifications, confirmations, Amazon vouchers); process and invoice commissions; comply with legal obligations; and prevent fraud and misuse of the platform.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

4. Who we share data with

Between buyers and dealers: When a buyer accepts a dealer's offer, the buyer's name, phone number, and email address are shared with that dealer so they can make contact to arrange viewing and purchase. Buyers acknowledge this is the purpose of accepting an offer.

Service providers: We use Supabase (database and authentication), EmailJS (email delivery), and Netlify (hosting). These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate data processing agreements.

Legal requirements: We may disclose personal data if required to do so by law or in response to a valid request from a competent authority.

5. Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you close your account, we will delete your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes (for example, commission invoice records for tax purposes, which are retained for 7 years).

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements); object to certain types of processing; and data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@autorequest.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies and tracking

AutoRequest uses only essential cookies required for the platform to function (session management and authentication). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that follow you across the web.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing via Supabase Auth, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage users to use strong, unique passwords and to contact us immediately if they suspect unauthorised access to their account.

9. Children

AutoRequest is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email before material changes take effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.

1. About AutoRequest

AutoRequest Ltd ("AutoRequest", "we", "us") operates a reverse car marketplace at autorequest.co.uk. We connect vehicle buyers with verified, registered UK motor trade dealers. We are not a vehicle dealer and do not buy, sell, or hold any vehicles. All transactions are directly between buyers and dealers. AutoRequest is a dealer-only platform — private sellers are not permitted.

2. Definitions

"Platform" means autorequest.co.uk and all associated services. "Buyer" means a registered user who posts a vehicle request. "Dealer" means a verified, registered UK motor trade business. "Request" means a vehicle specification posted by a Buyer. "Offer" means a specific vehicle proposal submitted by a Dealer in response to a Request. "Introduction" means the connection made between a Buyer and Dealer when the Buyer accepts a Dealer's Offer. "Completed Sale" means any sale of a vehicle between a Buyer and Dealer that follows an Introduction made through the Platform, regardless of whether the in-app confirmation flow is used. "Commission" means the fee owed by a Dealer to AutoRequest in respect of a Completed Sale.

3. Buyer terms

Posting requests: Buyers may post vehicle requests free of charge. By posting, you confirm you are a genuine prospective buyer with the stated budget available. False or misleading requests may result in account suspension.

Amazon voucher: Buyers who confirm a completed purchase and upload valid proof of sale (V5C document or dealer invoice) will receive an Amazon gift voucher by email: £10 for vehicles up to £15,000, or £15 for vehicles above £15,000. AutoRequest reserves the right to modify or withdraw this incentive at any time with reasonable notice.

Confirmation: Buyers should confirm their purchase within 30 days of accepting an Offer. After 30 days with no activity the hold expires automatically.

4. Dealer terms

Eligibility: Dealers must be registered UK businesses with a valid Companies House number and valid trade insurance. Dealers must maintain these credentials throughout their membership. AutoRequest reserves the right to suspend any Dealer whose credentials cannot be verified or have lapsed.

Offers: Dealers must only make Offers on vehicles they own or have firm access to and can sell at the stated price. Offers must accurately describe the vehicle in all material respects. Misleading Offers are grounds for immediate account termination.

Commission — when it is owed: Commission is owed by the Dealer to AutoRequest on every Completed Sale, being any sale of a vehicle that arises from an Introduction made through the Platform. Commission is owed whether or not the in-app confirmation flow is used. The in-app confirmation is the standard mechanism by which Commission is triggered and invoiced, but it is not the sole condition under which Commission becomes owed.

Commission rate: The standard Commission rate is 1% of the confirmed sale price. Founding dealers (the first 100 dealers to register) have their rate locked at 1% for their first three years from their first confirmed sale.

Commission invoicing: AutoRequest will issue a Commission invoice following confirmation of a Completed Sale. Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date.

Non-circumvention: Dealers must not attempt to complete sales with Buyers introduced through the Platform outside the Platform in order to avoid Commission. Breach of this obligation is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination and recovery of unpaid Commission.

Response obligation: Dealers who receive a Buyer's contact details following an accepted Offer must respond to that Buyer within 24 hours. Persistent failure to respond is grounds for account suspension.

5. Verification and approval

All Dealer applications are subject to manual review. AutoRequest verifies Companies House registration and trade credentials before granting access to the platform. Approval is at AutoRequest's sole discretion. AutoRequest may withdraw approval at any time if a Dealer's credentials lapse or if the Dealer is found to be in breach of these Terms.

6. Prohibited conduct

The following are strictly prohibited for all users: creating false or misleading listings or requests; impersonating another person or business; using the platform for any purpose other than genuine vehicle transactions; attempting to scrape or reverse-engineer the platform; uploading malicious code; and any conduct that exposes AutoRequest or other users to financial loss, legal liability, or reputational harm.

7. Payment and late payment

Commission invoices are due within 14 days of the invoice date. AutoRequest reserves the right to suspend a Dealer's access to the platform if invoices remain unpaid after 14 days. Unpaid invoices may be subject to statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

8. Our liability

AutoRequest is a technology intermediary. We do not guarantee the accuracy of Dealer listings, the quality of vehicles offered, or the outcome of any transaction. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AutoRequest's total liability to any user for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to £100 or the total Commission paid by that user in the preceding 3 months, whichever is greater. AutoRequest is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic losses including loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of revenue.

9. Termination

AutoRequest may terminate or suspend any account that breaches these Terms, without prior notice where the breach is serious, or on 30 days' notice for other grounds. Users may close their account at any time by emailing hello@autorequest.co.uk. Termination does not affect any accrued Commission obligation.

10. Changes to these terms

AutoRequest may update these Terms at any time. Registered users will be notified by email at least 15 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law
